Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information we collect when you use Metadata Sherpa ("the Service", "we", "us"), why, and how it's handled.
Information we collect
- Email address — used to sign you in (via a passwordless "magic link") and identify your account.
- Uploaded media — when you drop in a video or photo, individual frames are extracted in your own browser and sent to our server, which forwards them to Anthropic's Claude API to generate a title, description, and keywords. The original video/photo file itself is never uploaded — only the extracted frame images. We do not use your media to train any AI model.
- Batch metadata you enter — shoot theme, date, location, license preference, and similar fields you fill in, used only to generate more accurate results.
- Generated output — the titles, descriptions, and keywords produced for you, stored in your account so you can review past generations.
- Payment and credit history — when you buy credits, Stripe handles your payment details directly; we never see or store your card number. We do store the amount, date, and resulting credit balance.
Who we share information with
We use a small number of service providers to run the Service, each of which processes data on our behalf:
- Anthropic — processes uploaded frame images and generates the text output.
- Stripe — processes payments for credit purchases.
- Supabase — hosts our database and handles account sign-in.
- Vercel — hosts the website itself.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with anyone else for advertising purposes.
Cookies
We use one cookie to keep you signed in. We don't use tracking or advertising cookies.
Data retention and your rights
We keep your account data and generation history for as long as your account is active. You can ask us to access, correct, or delete your data at any time by emailing us at the address below — we'll respond within a reasonable time.
Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your information (encrypted connections, access controls on our database), but no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.
Children
The Service is not directed at children under 16, and we don't knowingly collect information from them.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
